This ones quite good a buyer buys loads of items from a buyer, gave him loads of grief so gets put on that sellers blocked bidder list. Now the buyer either has created a 2nd account or had one already and was free to resume buying the sellers items and back to causing him problems complaining about the items. The buyer found it was the same person because they used the same PayPal account linked up to both accounts. According to eBay it is a policy violation although I can’t find much about it, the help pages seem to point to having 2 selling accounts with problems nothing about 2 buyer accounts going wild…

a member used a second account to get around my blocked bidder list
a member buying a lot of sterling from me was blocked with my blocked bidder list. they had purchased from me before and gave me a ton of trouble so i just blocked them after that transaction.
they created a new username with the same paypal email address and information and i didnt catch it until they complained again.
I reported the guy to ebay and paypal but is there anything else I can do? I blocked them on purpose so I didn’t have to deal with their BS and now i have to anyway
edit I called ebay customer service and they forwarded me to trust and safety – the guy on the phone said he was violating ebay policy and they would investigate. he said they couldn’t tell me how the investigation turned out but the usual punishment for this would be a restriction on the account so they cant make new IDs. he also said that there was an automatic system scanning new IDs/emails to see if there were any restrictions so as long as i had them on my blocked bidder list i’d be all set.
Sensible ideas in the comments that eBay could never think of :
Maybe Ebay needs to work with PayPal (since they own it) and have blocked bidders automatically block any bidders that use the same associated PayPal account completely!
The fact that Ebay does NOT seem to do this should put the responsibility for this little fraud on Ebay. IMHO
blocking by email would be the best solution
